Knot on top of head

Postby Bticked » Wed Apr 25, 2012 7:06 pm

I was just wondering if anyone has experienced this or if I should be concerned. When I got back from out of town, my 12 week old puppy at the time had a knot on top of her head. It wasnt really soft or too hard but it didnt hurt her at all. It got a little bigger and then started to go down. It has never hurt her since and its been a couple weeks. Its gotten smaller still but hasnt gone away. There is no sign of a bug bite or a wound at all. Anyone know anything like this before?

In my experience it is a bite from an older dog that didn't break the skin. I have seen it several times on my pups when they start to annoy the older dogs.

I've seen a few pups get benign tumors (non-cancerous) just keep an eye on it. If it begins to grow again take her to the vet and have a biopsy done on it. They lance it with a needle and draw a fluid sample. Usually takes 48 hours to get the results, but I'm thinking at such a young age its just a fatty tumor
Get'em up there boys!
