Re: Making a silent dog

But anyway he started very early and I was hunting with very good dogs of an uncles at the time, the walker is talking about was opening on track and treeing wi...

Tt15 help.
Iv been having an issue all summer with collars less than a year old. Sometimes the collar will be sitting on the dog box sometimes on a dog in the box and twice on a dog in the woods. The collar will randomly cut off and will not turn back on. Put it on charge the light never turns green. It will m...

Re: How did you come to hunt the dogs you hunt?
Mine started with a walker coon dog a older gentleman gave me. We need him to my uncles gyp he wanted one pup and he got rid of the rest. I’d been bear hunting with other people but never had my own dogs. Well one of these pups he had given away was being passed around from person to person he would...

Re: Cur dogs near va?
There is gentleman on Craigslist that has a 8 month old brindle cur started on squirrel for 400. 3 weeks ago I got a 7 year old gyp from him to squirrel and coon hunt. She's a broke dog. He seems to be a very honest man and at 8 months old you can probably make it whatever you'd like to Sent from my...

Re: Packing in dogs
Yessir not many people around here that follow on foot anymore. I don't understand why many times while going to dogs already on one I've founds sign and went there the next day to jump another. I'm not against anyone's style of hounding but you don't get to see what's IN the woods when all your doi...

Re: General questions
I agree most bears don't cause any issues on average. And as long as your hounds work as a team they'll more than likely be able to keep one off of each other. In our area old sows bang up more than boars. Most time if it's a mean bo bear things get expensive

Re: General questions
That's a broad spectrum there! Some bears will run through a pack like a chainsaw. Some walk and and don't pay much attention to the dogs, and some climb before the dogs ever really "catch" them. But if you're dogs respect um they might get a lil banged up but they should be ok. Sent from ...

Re: Packing in dogs
Also easier for me to keep up with a walking fighter on foot I can get in there with the dogs help keep pups motivated. Keep the young ones cranking. The closer you stay to a walking bear the more pressure they'll put on him. Especially if they know your bringing some relief. If you've ever paid att...

Re: Packing in dogs
Because I'm fortunate enough to have a few family and friends that hunt with me, and after I get a track going I either fall off to a road or follow the dogs until they get close to the road and I'll drop over to it. Someone will pick me up and we'll get ahead of the race again. Bears in my area run...

Re: Packing in dogs
I'm at 8 dogs that I don't mind taking at any time ranging from 3-8 years old, a 11 take doesn't get out of ten because he's gotten very slow but I will take in the flatlands a few times, and 4 pups that I'm going to try to roll over on bear come chase season that will be 10 months old in April Sent...
