Re: nonresident snow lion hunting trip
i have been watching this post for a little bit. i once was one of those guys looking to head out west to run a lion with my hounds. i went out 7 years and probably 15,000 miles of driving before i ever turned a dog loose because i finally was pointed in the right direction by a local hunter. he was...

not sure what your definition of big and houndy is but look up Darrell Jonet or Jonet Plotts. i think he is on facebook. he is producing some real nice bear/cat minded dogs.

Re: Hunting Blown Down Timber
we run in to some blow downs here on occasion too. it can slow them up a bit. i am not exactly sure what the cats do in them all i know is the dogs make some losses in them. i have seen some go out on the blow down and jump off some run under the tree where there is no snow and it takes the dogs a w...

Mountain Hunting Clothing
Not sure if this is the best place to ask about this but what is some good hunting pants and jacket for hunting in the mountains or just plain walking in snow anywhere? I still have the old "long John" mentality and throw on a pair of insulated bibs and go but i am looking at making it a l...

Re: How many dogs???
Actually the more dogs you have in there on a bad bear can be worse in the long run. where we hunt it is pretty thick swamp with a lot of mud so the dogs can't move around as good as they could on dry ground. i turn 1-2 dogs out to start the track and feed a couple more in as they get it lined out. ...

Re: Keeping a pack in one pen.?
i built a pen 50x50 with an attached shed with houses off the side. i like it a lot for letting pups run free. i also have some older dogs on chains right outside the kennel and i turn them in there all the time to let them run around a little. i have one female that is real cranky with pups so she ...

Re: Andy Jenson dog's here it is
I have no dog in this one as well but i will say that i have had 2 dealings with Andy. i bought a young dog from Andy and the dog was exactly what he said it was. that dog was making a real nice all around dog on multiple species of game until i accidentally ran him over. the other was i bought a fe...

i said most of what i wanted to say in the PM i sent you about these people but when you are dealing with crooks i feel it should be put out in the open for all to see. when you post ads for dogs for sale on an open forum you also put yourself out there for the results of what you are trying to sell...

Re: how do i get some weight on my dog?
do the wormer thing a couple doses. make sure it is a multi wormer so all intestinal worms are eliminated. then keep doing the raw meat. just a little bit of raw meat every day should help. some times the dry kibble food doesn't have enough fat content in the feed to put weight on. one thing about f...

Re: t 10 stealing reception
This happens with the DC 50 collars too. if your collar number on your DC 40 is #6 and someone close by has a #6 on, your collar will lose signal. once the other #6 is turned off it will come back on. happens all the time with us. none of us have the t-5 or the t-10 collars.

Re: Snowmobile Hunting
i don't have an elaborate set up. all i have is an otter sled with a pet carrier. it isnt the best but it works. the one thing i will say is to not make it too tall or top heavy because when you go around corners it may roll or tip over.
