Re: Any body feed their dogs hog?

In Europe this Trichinosis is true. Nasty little F*cker and i couldn't even think to feed my dogs with raw pig or bear meat. If i remember right it wont die even in freezer and the only way is to cook the meat well.

Re: drahthaar for bear

In Finland they have mix our finnish hound and german pointers. One litter was called black demons, because they usually tend to be black using drahthaar and gritty as hell. Speed is the thing what you get using pointers, but pups may be totally silent runners. That is from first generation, but im ...

I dont know does it work properly but the idea of using spikes is maybe worth of trying.
Armor doesn't need to be heavy when you put spikes on top of it so then wolves cant get their theeth in.

Re: Extending the Range of Your Dog (or increasing independence)

One thing what is popular around here is to go in to the woods and make a fire and sit tight. Young dog is loose and it can play around you but sooner or later it get's furstrated and starts to make longer loops around you. This style can be so boring and you may have lung cancer after the smokes yo...

Can you somehow change the average speed to current speed.
I have tried to find the way to change it because average speed wont tell you how fast dog is going.

Re: mechanical bear

Go to youtube and type "konekarhu" and you will see some dogwork videos too.
Some dogs think it's real and work real hard and some think that is just one funny looking wheelchair.

Re: Foxhounds

I think grit and finnish hound can't be used on same sentence. There are some lines that can have some kind of grit, but most the dogs i have seen wont even bite dead hare. I think these dogs are running machines and they can run whole day. If you shoot the hare it's running, dog can just snif it an...

Re: Foxhounds

I would take that dog in a heart beat, but mrs said no more dogs in near future. Does that dog run fox also? Steve are you going to change hunting style, because you are asking some Finnish hounds? They are hare hounds mainly and true foxlines are rare. When you take finnish pup it's gambling do you...
