Shot my first cat with a 222 worked great! Just bought a .223 the other day and will be working on some reduced loads for it. Should do the job. Nice not to blow them out of the tree, just poke a hole in them and let them fall out on their own.

.338 win mag.......loaded up with 250gr. Noslers will knock just about any bear flat! My personal favorite bear medicine.

Unfortunatly the Guide\Oufitter would also be very fast to blow the wistle on you. They're rough on resident hunters so I can only imagine what your situation would be like. (they don't want anyone out hunt'n "their" cats. Sad bud true)

Now I dont understand what the CO means by "pursuit season" we have a hunting season, Sept 8 - June 15, which entitles one to kill the cat if he wishes, but no "pursuit season" unless he is refering to the hunting season as a pursuit season.
