Re: Anyone Alive in here?
Well I've been hunting hounds for a long time and I've decided to try a mountain cur, picked up a pup about a week ago we'll see how she turns out. I'm not color blind all I expect is a dog to use it's god-given talents to work dry ground lions.

Re:
I'm going to assume you're asking if anybody downloads the dog tracks and looks at the different times each dog is at each different location from start to finish. It used to be very simple to do with the DC50 and older collars as you could plug them into the computer and download the individual col...

Re: training to improve cold trailing?
As far as training the dog to have a stronger desire to work in older track you have to stop running the hot tracks. I'm not sure what you're wanting to hunt but I would assume you're wanting to hunt mountain lion. If you run that pup on Coon for a year and then try to switch to lion some of them wi...

Re: Tracking lions vs foxes
If you absolutely have no tracks on the ground the only way you're going to be able to tell what they're chasing is with a good broke dog. With saying that if your trail leads up through the boulders there's a good chance it could be a fox. If it leaves the game trail goes over to the rock pile and ...

Re: Getting Right on Top of them
Depending on the bluff lions can leap a long way up or down. There won't be a continuous trail in to them as they jumped from one point to the other. I've been on several that if the hounds didnt see them go over the edge they would have never caught them.

Re: How do ya’ll keep so many dogs
I have 12 hounds and 3 yard dogs currently. I've had as many as 26 at one point. I think the key is well mannered dogs. I put a lot of time into my puppies so they mind and handle very well. My hounds run loose in about a 2 acre area during the day. They get chained up at night. Each dog knows where...

Re: Hello from AZ
Where you at in az? Without someone to tag along with the best way will be to find a track and walk it out with your dog. Keep doing that until they get it figured out.

My guess is you've got some wires touching when you fed it into the shaft of the connector. I know it's too late now but they do make an adapter.

Re: Hello from Arizona
A grade dog is not registered it could be mixed up like a walker bluetick or whatever. A lot of the old time hunters bred best to best they didn't care what color they were.

Re: Starting pups on e-collar
Before I ever put a collar on them I get them to come with a leash. Essentially I use a long 20 ft leash and let it drag while they're running around. When I tell them to come if they don't listen I step on the end of the leash and I draw them into me. If you do this correctly transitioning to the e...

Re: Stock rack with dog boxes
I don't know where you're at but if you go to a welding shop a lot of times they can build it up for you take them a picture with dimensions and measurements. I built one several years ago that would hold 10 plus dogs and two mules in the back of a long bed Dodge.
