Re: Harrell's High Lonesome Blueticks

If you’re looking for a puppy you might try Bret Westphal at high country blueticks,he’s up in Montana also and has a lot of the same blood that Jim Harrell does.

Re: Harrell's High Lonesome Blueticks

I’m sure there’s someone on here that knows a little more but I thought I heard from somebody that he sold most or all of his dogs and isn’t selling puppies or training dogs anymore

Re: A Legend Passes

I had the pleasure of meeting Del about 14 years ago when I went up to Stevensville and bought a pup from him. I thought he was as straightforward and honest as a man can get, especially in the hound world it seems. He invited us in for coffee and we talked dogs and hunting for quite a while and then ...

Re: Dogs Loading Up

I usually start training to load up at a pretty early age and by the time they’re physically capable of jumping up to the tailgate they seem to take right to it,especially after watching the older dogs do it.Like David mentioned I’ve found that using a leash at first to give them a little guidance h...

Dave Dean

I got to reading the latest issue of Coonhound Bloodlines the other day and somebody referred to him as the late Dave Dean.I hadn’t heard that he passed away.I never got to meet him but talked with him on the phone some years ago,he seemed like a genuinely nice and down to earth kinda guy.Definitely...

Re: Before GPS collars, motor vehicles....

I was told about the clothing trick quite a few years ago from an old coonhunter in Missouri that I had bought a dog from and have had to use it a couple times. It is pretty neat to pull up and see them laying down right on top of it.

Re: Droopy, slobbering mouth and gunky eye

It's just a thought and not sure if you have It around your place but I had a dog get into a patch of stinging nettle. She had the same symptoms but got it good enough where she didn't even want to walk.If not stinging nettle maybe some other bad plant.

Re: Cameron Cross results

He's still in Montana but hasn't been selling any puppies for quite some time now.As for adult dogs I don't know if he ever did sell them but just kinda farmed them out to different friends and guides in the area. I could be wrong though. There's got to be someone on here that knows for sure
