Re: IHA Banquet

Dustin milbourne,
Contact Tim Hunt IHA president for membership info. His number is listed in the above post. We are going to have our spring trial April 5th and 6th north of Emmett, Idaho. We encourage anyone interested in the IHA to attend. It will be a fun weekend, and there will be lots of great ...

Re: *Idaho Hound hunters please read*

You guys are on the right track. This is less about game management and more about making room for wolves. Unit 7 and 9 are almost impossible to hunt with hounds because of the road systems and the existing forest service roads are just becoming more gated every year. Everyone needs to comment on ...

Re: first bobcat

Oh you would know if your dog smiles. It is totally obvious. I'm surprised he doesn't, every brother and sister from those litters smiles. Kinda freaked me out the first time I saw it. Looks a little like they want to bite someone, but Harley has always done it and is not aggressive with people. I ...

Re: Rattlesnake vaccination...

I have been using them for about four years and haven't had a dog bit since then.
My vet says that the real benefit will be from a snake that injects alot of venom.
we have had dogs bit before that lived with little problem, but his take on that was the snake probably didn't inject much into them ...

Re: New Pup

Hey thanks Scott. We are happy that you got a pup . I know you will hunt her hard and bring out her full potential. She is out of my Harley female, and a friends stud dog Rock. Both parents are Duncan bred and top of the line bear and cat dogs.

Re: Ken Duncan (Dalton Creek Kennels)

CDH,
You are right. We bred this cross last year, and we had real good luck with the pups being early starters. Both the parents catch a ton of game, so I talked to Ken and asked his opinion before we did it. He said to do it, and we have not been sorry.
This cross seems to have good ear length and ...

Re: Ken Duncan (Dalton Creek Kennels)

Here's a few pictures of some pups we have on the ground. They turned 5wks old today and are all just a ball of fire. Their parents are both Duncan bred, a Skeeter/Cricket cross and Jim/Bareeb cross. This thread has been so positive I hate to see it end on a negative comment....

Re: Ken Duncan (Dalton Creek Kennels)

Blackandtanman32,
The missy dog your asking about is not the same as my dog, however I have had lots of duncan dogs with the same dogs in their pedigree. In my opinion it's pretty hard to beat the bo dog for a foundation of your dogs. Best dog I ever owned was a bo/sue pup. Still amazes me what that ...

Re: Lion hunters only: Vote for your states top lionhunter

My vote for Idaho has to go to Pat Reed and Rob Donley. Those two men were real lion hunters in the toughest conditions, and have probably accounted for more lions between the two of them than all other Idaho lion hunters combined. Rob also was the winner of the only cougar derbys held in Idaho and ...

love the dog sled setup. I guess you don't have to justify what works for you to any of us. It's always nice when your trying to show folks what works good for you and some loud mouthed dick pipes up. keep doing whats working and don't let him bother you. there's always one of those guys out there ...

Re: need help in S.W. Idaho

Running off baits can be a tricky thing for this very reason. One thing that was already mentioned was to start with just one dog and after the first dog has lined
out then send in others. You can have a big cluster by cutting loose the whole pack before the lead dog is lined out. That is often what ...
