Hey Jim, thanks for the concern and advice. I do not hunt hogs with dogs, the hunt is spot and stock.

Re: California people ANY SUCCESS YET with BEAR HUNTING?
The bears are out feeding like crazy. I noticed they are starting to not run as far before they tree. Putting up at least a bear a day. It has been fun! Just got home to take a few days off in between clients and then I will be back up to camp to run some more. Happy Hunting!

Re: Dogo argentino
This is just my opinion on hog dogs versus bear dogs. Hogs can not tree. Bears can. Bears will sit in a brush pile and grab dogs, hogs can not grab a dog. Bears will run a dog down grab a hold of them and bite them. Hogs run at them and throw their tusks at them. In my opinion dogs are way more ...

Re: Most grit ??
Have you ever noticed that if your pack of dogs have to much grit you don't get bears in trees? I have noticed that a pack of hair pullers will rip a bear off a tree while it is climbing up, kind of like a raccoon. A lot of bears will challenge a pack of dogs before they climb. They will usually run ...

Re: grey vs red fox
Thank you for the info dc. I am not a varmit hunter I just let my young dogs run them around the ranch. I figure if they can track and tree a fox they can track a bear. All I have seen is the greys on the ranch but that does not mean there are no reds. Like I said thanks for the.info. have a good ...

Re: grey vs red fox
I m not sure but I think we only have greys in my neck of the woods. Well, that is all I have ever seen. Maybe someone else can confirm differently. I like running my young dog's on them.

Re: Bear camp
I chain All my dogs up on a chain gang in the evening and then I put them in the box at night. I use a chain gang that way I only have to drive three stakes in instead of 8 individual stakes.

Re: Trying to get a hold of Tim Hubble
My buddy tried to buy a pup off of him and he ripped my partner off. My buddy sent him 300 dollars and never got his pup. He threatened Tim so he finally sent my buddy 100 back and still has not replaced the other 200. He keeps saying he is sending a check but never has. I do not know Tim but be ...

Re: California bears
Get on a dirt road from elevation 2000 and up, you will find them. Now that I think about it I know places at 500 feet where there are a lot of bears. Just through your rig dog up and drive, you will find em.

California Guided Hog Hunts
I am taking deposits on guided hog hunts. For a one day basic hog hunt I am charging $500, for a two day it is $750, and for a premium hog hunt it is $1,000. I am guiding on a private ranch in Northern California. Here are some pictures of some of my trail cams set up on the ranch. Take care, Cody ...
