Re: bloodhound
To add a little on this subject, I personally wouldn't go with the bloodhound because some of the lines are so bred out that you don't know what you'll get. It is possible to run and tree bear with two dogs if they are both a good caliber of dog. It is also possible to take a coondog and turn it ...

Re: Looking for the cascade bloodline...
Rodney Burris is supposed to have a line of dog that is Cascade breeding. I've had a few from him that where the real deal. I haven't talked to him in awhile so they could have all died out by now but that's one more option for you.

Re: Runnng same bear off bait???
The bear will keep hitting day after day. Pretty much the same bear hit certain baits that are in their home area. If you run them hard they may not hit again that night but will be back again in a day or two.

Re: breeders influences
I feel that once a dog has three generations of the crosses you've made behind them, you can call it your line or stock of dog. Some breeders cross every popular line of dog together and slap their kennel name on the results.

Re: Plott guys only
I don't really post a lot on here just like to see what everyone has to say. I get a kick outta the way people take offense when you talk your dogs up a little. It's all in good fun. I prefer Plotts because they work for me. When we stand up for our breed of dog people get pissed and call us ...

Re: cascade line
Just thought I'd weigh in on the Cascade thread. There isn't any weems dogs that go back to cascade but some weems is in cascade. I have heard that the pedigrees may have been fudged. As far as there being any around, Rodney Burris has Cascade stock and from the dogs I've had from him they are the ...

Re: William Bruger
I know the Brugers. I have done a lot of hunting with and around them. Willie passed away several years ago in car wreck. Tom Bruger still hunts and you could find him pretty easy through the WBHA, hope this helps.

Re: easier or harder to tree?
From what I've seen in WI the more a bear is ran the more dogwise it becomes. 2 bear over 300 treed like cupcakes in kill season and no one had messed with them all training season. 1 smaller bear that got ran alot just about wiped me out and it was about half the size of the others.

Hello from Wisconsin.
I'm new to the site and I'm a bear hunter in northwest WI. I run Plotts and have mostly grade dogs. I've also done a little hog hunting with these same hounds down south. Always interested in talking to any hound hunters.
