Re: got to work a badger this weekend.

But talking about working dogs on a caged animal is OK? I guess we shouldn't talk about dogs baying a bear or cougar either. Or talk about dogs getting hurt on a hunt. Or... It was legal. No video or pics were posted of the catch and the animal was killed quickly. What more could a fellow houndsman ...

Re: got to work a badger this weekend.

Cool part about this is that there are no badgers where I have seen lion tracks. One mans trash is another mans treasure. :)

Re: got to work a badger this weekend.

OK. I get that. So you have a reason not to? I would like to hear it. Not being a smartass either. No worse than a hog or bear bayed up is it?

Re: got to work a badger this weekend.

Why not? Cleaner than a cat. They stink. Teaches the dogs to bay without getting hurt. The ranchers want them controlled. And the best reason of all is that its legal and we can. No different then a caged coons, except no cage and we don't have coons out here.

Re: replacing beep/beep collars

Send the collar in to Quick track. It will cost you $50 to replace the battery, and you will be money, time, and frustration ahead. They should have it back to you within the week of you sending it if they do their part.

Re: Dog box on a trailer pros cons?

I think that there is more protection for a dog that is in a box that is in the bed of a truck. I have not witnessed wrecks with trailers, but I have seen the results of one, and it was not pretty. The bed is the safest and most secure spot, imo. I had my dog box on a trailer for a short time while ...

Yes - and what info are you wanting.

Go to www.ndow.org and look at the hunting regs for mountain lion. Pretty straightforward.

Re: Nevada cat dogging...

Bobcats can be quite difficult to catch in NV, as compared to other states. A few do get caught, but I don't know of anyone that targets them specifically. With a year round lion season, and only a 3 month bobcat season, its just more common to run lions.

Re: USSA VS HSUS Debate Watch the video SB1221

I got through about 3 minutes of that, and about blew a gasket. Good thing I was not on the other line, I thought the USSA guy was doing a pretty good job of keeping his cool. A lot better than I could have done.

Re: Tree climbing dogs

Unfortunately I hunt where dogs don't need to "climb." All they have to do is stretch out and they can be at eye level, lol. This picture was at the last tree I had on March 2. The tree was at the edge of an overgrown creek bottom. You could not see the lion from the creek bottom. Climb up...

Re: Help save our Bears and Lion from the slaughter by Utah

Ok, I have kept my words to myself for the most part, but my B.S. meter has just about pegged out. I simply do not understand the mentality that ONLY killing males is actually healthy. At some point, females have to be killed to maintain a healthy population. I don't think that every female (or tom ...
