Re: dog boots
someone already said it but we need to breed for better feet, I can remember when I was a young man just getting into the sport of hunting with hounds and when I sold a hound or pup one of the things the guys buying the dog or pup would do was look at there feet not to many people do this anymore ...

Re: aggressive males
I think this is key and anyone can say I am wrong but this is my theory. Hounds are pack animals so there for there is always a alpha male your male hounds need to first understand that is you and then they fall into the pecking order behind you. males will always fight over females that is a given ...

Re: Rig Dog???
a good way to start a dog on a rig is to actually walk them down a dirt road on a long leash and shorten the leash as the dog or pup starts to learn to strike lay some trash trails and some actuall game trails to help with the breaking process when you do this it is a controlled enviroment and you ...

Re: Cameron Blueticks on Bears?
here is my thought take it for what its worth camerons are good dogs generally, there smart athletic have plenty of nose to get any job done and enough speed too if you buy one good bred cameron pup he might not out perform every dog in your pack however he or she will typically be well rounded and ...

Re: cameron slow to start
Pups go thru phases too like teenagers I've had some good dogs that started fast at about 4to5 months then they go thru this stage where they like to play you just have to be patient and that stage has usually been between 10 months and a year.I usually put them up for a couple weeks and don't mess ...

Re: cameron slow to start
I think cobalt hit it. turn a coon loose for him if he is agressive on a caged coon hes ready you just need to teach him to look for his own tracks and then trail them start by putting that coon in a cage in the same spot for a couple hours so the scent lingers then make a drag for him with the ...

Re: Wolve Poll
I believe there is genetics with in our hounds that we could mold a wolf hound type out of but there isnt many hounds right now that are suited for hunting a timber wolf, you would need a good pack of hounds that hunted as a pack made up of dogs with a little more speed then the wolf but with a ...

Re: Bill Green's breeding advisor
Just want to add a good point I believe bill did import some hounds and the reason I do is simply because of the characteristics of some of bills hounds in comparison to the ggs and the time frame that the ggs was developed if you do the math someone if not bill had to import these hounds in the ...
