I was out saturday morning with the hounds and had a dc-30 and dc-40 shut down , came home thinking they need charged , but neither one will light up with chargers plugged in (tried differant chargers) i also done a reset on both , even tried new batteries , but didnt help. Hey Sky, we treed and killed the 8 you passed up plus 3 more!!!! Lol that's big numbers , considering after talking to alot of houndsmen that are having problems finding bear , do to no food and they may have laid up. I may be wrong about it but thats my two cents worth!!!

Jason , it's a cut in the mountain side , it usually runs the length of the mountain , it's made from surface mining coal. I will try to post a pic, unless someone can explain it better. Kinda reminds me of the grand canyon !

Good job, send some off them bears to Boone / Kanawha county! We have hunted seven days , seen about 2 differant tracks (old tracks)first day , then ran a track Yesterday, by the time the dogs got on his rear he ran over a high wall and left the dogs behind, I had to climb up and get them off.kinda ...

Maybe the next couple of warm days might get them moving again. Who knows , I hope so I have been hunting a spot in Boone Kanawha county and their is no movement at all! These young hounds show good nature, they will tear up a caged coon and hide, I'm just having difficulty finding time and the game to train. Hoping to run them on some bears if we can just find some.

All I can say is the first day we found 2 old tracks, Tuesday it rained, Wednesday it rained then snowed, so thinking that the rain quite and a 1" of snow on the ground, Thursday was going to be the morning for bear hunting !! I know a coon hunter that has been using Astro for about a year now he called me and told me that his was also losing reception range , he has never used it around a VHF radio.
