Re: Cold nose ? Fact or fiction
Some of the best dog posts I have read...thanks for taking the time. I agree that coon hound competition has created a dog that hunts hard and fast and looking for a track that will put a coon in a tree quickly...so after a short while the majority of hounds will evolve towards that type of dog... I...

Re: PRICING A HOUND ?
I agree with the above. Also a dog depreciates pretty quick once it reaches a certain age. A dogs value goes up if it comes from a long line of great hunting dogs.

That is a good recipe for success if the dogs are good representations of their breeds.

Re: Something I'm trying to do..
Just a day before you posted here I was looking on ETHD for the thread that had the David Hife youtube video but did not find it. I have been reading Dave Deans articles in Full Cry, he is now 83 years old and has proven over and over the exceptional dog man that he is and he has gone against the gr...

Re: croghan hounds
At one time I was looking for a run to catch Croghan hound to try on hogs...and if he worked out I was going to breed him to one of my best females...never found one...someone mentioned a Hale/Croghan cross that consistently caught lots of coyotes...sounds like one I wouldn't mind trying out...
