Natural Tree or Trained to tree?

We've all had dogs that just like to tree and we've all had dogs that weren't necessarily crazy about it. To make a dog tree on bear or a lion is easy they can see it obviously. Something I've seen is like on bobbers or coon in big trees or thick trees is it takes sometime to get a dog to trust its ...

I've always wondered the difference between nature and nurture. I have had dogs that just seem to to take to whatever game you're after. I have had dogs that after time they'll take to your main targeted game and become decently proficient at that game, but it takes alot of time and alot of getting ...

Re: Long nights sore legs and young dogs!

Well I've got some coyote running rascals if nothing else!! I've had coon feeders out for 2 weeks nothing but field mice have hit em haha we're still walking 4 nights a week. I'm thinking just hang it up until cat season starts and start my focus on that. They did do a very nice job cold trailing a ...

Re: Long nights sore legs and young dogs!

They go back to heavy Stiles and Roark breeding. Yes sir its been a challenge to say the least. It's always easy to tell what's a cull and what's not when you have something to compare it to and when there's plenty of game. Honestly, my biggest fear is spending all this time and effort with them for ...

Long nights sore legs and young dogs!

I sold my whole pack of mostly finished bear and hog dogs last year and moved to Eastern Montana. I brought 2 pups out of the same stock up with me because they would give me time to get my bearings with where I'm living. I wanted to start them on the ring tails to learn to trail and tree before ...

Re: anyone in eastern mt or western nd

Are you still living in Wibaux? I've lived here about a year and I have 2 hounds I coon hunt and bobcat hunt with. I'm originally from the mountains in GA so I'm still trying to get accustomed to everything here.

I'd breed to him if I could see him in the woods. You can come hunt here in Ga or I can hunt there. I don't care about color just ability

Re: Roy Stiles bloodlines

Could anyone send me contact info for Mr. Stiles? I have line bred dogs known as North Ga Plotts. They go back to really heavy Stiles breeding and I hope to breed back to his line. Thank you
