Hey houndsmen, I am going after bear with a buddy with his pack of hounds this Monday. I am wondering what you all have in your packs? I do run hounds but not bear. I pack some duct tape, medical wrap, 2 knives, 2 knives and a sharpener for incase we get a monster and have to skin and quarter it ...

those terriers are gritty, I have 2 ursus plot pups that I be starting on coon. at 2 months I showed them a caged coon and they wanted it. gonna run them with my duane smith plot on coon then let them catch a few..

I am butcher by trade. I am a meatcutter at a super market full time. I been thinking of going to the auction and getting a cheap steer, old cow, or what ever and tae home a butcher it. depends on the condition of the meat, I would keep the best cuts for myself and then grind the rest for the hounds.

that's what I am using this year, I wont shoot a cat on the ground unless its bayed by the hounds.. I am thinking of getting a Taurus 22 mag revolver too.. more ump to it

well I still a rookie myself, but I have a 12 ga with 3" #4 and a ruger 22 pistol.. next year I will only carry the 22. I want my hounds to tree or catch it on the ground.. BTW cat hunting is the hardest hound sport out there..

try on that houndsofmaine site.. it will narrow it down in the northeast. I don't know of any in maine.. a lot of walkers, plott English and bluetick..
