I have red bones and they have plenty of grit for me. I just got three plotts and they also seem to have lots of grit and alot of heart to stay and really put the fire to a mean boar. Thats the two i like but alot of it is prefrence and what ya like to hunt

i like to run my dogs every chance that i get. it seems to keep there minds in the middle and not as wound up when ya do get the chance to take a track and its nice to keep your dogs in good shape and keep their lugs tough. keep em runnin every chance ya get

thanks for the input. he does have alot of play in him and is a big dog but dont have much speed. and just not my kind of dog. probably just going to get rid of him he fires good at coons and will tree if he can see the coon but just not impressing me much with the bear hunting.

I got a leopard cur for christmas. The guy i got him from says he is suppose to be a nice dog but is seven months and hasnt done to much to impress me yet. Whats everyones opinion on this breed. Are they worth taking the time and making a dog or is it a lost cause?

its all preference in my opinion. i like my red dogs alot and they are doing really well on bear and lion and i got an old dog that is a great bear dog he is about thirteen but still has alota push and might help you train your puppie if your interested in getting back into it chivers.mark@yahoo.com ...
