Re: Do everything cur dog

A black mouth cur or catahoula is going to be hard to beat for what you want. I don't know anything about her dogs but Redwood Coonhounds on here, and I believe she has a web site, has catahoulas she hunts and breeds. Thanks for the mention. I do run some Catahoulas with my pack. They are definitel...

Re: 3/4Walker 1/4Bloodhound Big Game Pups

Thanks David I like the way they turned out, yeah he runs a track just like his mom who is the nance/clover bred walker he is a little quieter on track then her, and has a better nose. Him and his mom will grub a older track he just moves it a little quicker, but when it warms up they both lift the...

Re: Which organizations register purebred hounds in America?

For Coonhounds the reputable registries are UKC, AKC and PKC.
CKC is not a reputable registry for any breed. They will put papers on anything, including made up designer dogs, like "Doodles"

Re: Catahoula Treedogs

Cassandra, I have a customer that has bred these dogs for 30 yrs. most turn out b/t weigh around 70+ lbs beautiful dogs and smart. Usually a one family dog. Keep you a few out of the litter and start and hunt them alone. Don't hunt them with your hounds just start walking them through the woods and...

Re: Catahoula Treedogs

Here is a picture of the dogs coming out from a tree. Long race and it jumped tree a few times. Both of them have zero dog aggression. This is my male. He gets along with my other intact males and small puppies. I've heard a lot about curs being dog aggressive or overly gritty. Not the case with my ...

Re: Catahoula Treedogs

These are purebred NALC registered Louisiana Catahoula Leopard dogs. No Leopard Cur/hound. I'd have never thought they would do as well on bears and coons as they do. These two were 100% natural treedogs. I have lots of video of them. They don't tree as hard as say a purebred coonhound, but they tre...

Re: Catahoula Treedogs

Planning one breeding these two in the Spring, if anyone would be interested in trying them for big game. I can't guarantee that they will all come out as cold trailing treedogs, but I definitely like them enough to give it a try and see if I can get a few more.

Re: HEAT STROKE / HEAT EXHAUSTION!

Once I lay mine up, I don't take them back out for the summer. Once they are out of shape they are done. Even if we did get the odd "cooler" night the dogs would run themselves into the ground. They aren't used to being out of shape. Mentally they would still think they are bulletproof. Th...

Re: HEAT STROKE / HEAT EXHAUSTION!

I had 2 dogs get severe heat stress last year running at late at night. They got in some tight brush with that humidity, and it just did them in. These dogs were in top notch shape and conditioned to running in the heat. The sad part is I was the one who stopped them, had I not I'm afraid I'd have l...

Re: TT15 and tag-a-long collar problems?

No, I had tons of problems with interference. I finally got tired of it and just yanked all the tag-a-longs off. Where I hunt we don't have wolves and don't have anywhere that the dogs would get that they would ever starve to death or anything like that. My dogs know the area. But I seriously got si...

Re: !!! The Ultimate Bobcat Dog...Part 1.5 !!!

Ok so for those of you just passing through what Dan and Goose are talking about are sex linked traits. These traits are passed on from one generation to the next through the genes that determine gender. I'm sure you know that an xx chromosomal pair = female and xy = male. A really cool thing is th...
