Re: boots and gear for lion in colorado

Are kenetracs really worth that kinda money I thought 230 was a lot for my gore tex red wings? What other gear do u all use on a typical day chasing lions? Thanks jim

A good boot is worth every penny. Without good ones you will wish you stayed back at the truck. Also good to have wind stopping ...

Re: ONLY A MAN WOULD ATTEMPT THIS

That is hilarious! Reminds me of the guy who buckled a bark collar to his neck and started barking and then couldn't get it off because he was thrashing around screaming and yelling.

Re: Illegal outfitting

wyoutfitter, that was a well put two cents. It take sportsmen and houndsmen of all kinds to ensure the future of our hunting heritage. What is really at the root of this is individuals who are dishonesty and greedy, and you are going to have to go a whole lot deeper into society to fix those problems.

Re: Affording hounds

this very question has been asked in the past and the ways people find to follow hounds are wide and varied. it seems to stem from the amount of determination a person has to be a houndsmen more then the method of support. no doubt it can be very expensive but most hobbies cost something the ...

Re: Lions killing coyotes?

I have seen a few coyote kills from lions and on the flip side I have seen coyotes run lions off. Much the same way birds will run a raptor off.

Re: Hiking to cut tracks

We have been running roads for the last 7 days and have not seen a track. So I did some walk ins and cut 4 different tracks in the same day... all of which where at least 3 days old. I should have done that from the start and next time out I will and I know where to look.

Re: Bobcat ?????? wounder why

This has happened to me a few times also. I have a few theories, but the one that seems to make the most since is, it seems startled animals have the ability to hold their sent. Think about it, sow coons with kits don't leave sent, a hunting lion can get right up to its prey and not be smelled and ...

Re: lion gun

I use the TC contender in a 30-30 carbine its never failed me yet... got to make sure the hammer "selector" is in the center fire position though. I also really like the .357, Black Hills Ammo make a real stout load for it if you think you need it.

Re: Best Redbone Breed For Cats

I have hunted redbones for a long time and really like them. They can be one of the best looking hounds when put together right too. I mean liver red in color (not washed out), houndy head, and good bawl mouth. What I like most about the ones I hunted is how well they treed and I never hunted with ...

Brady, I am with you on this one. This is not a dude anyone should put as their role model he was a dishonest cowered who hid in the woods because he was welcome no where else.

A good rule for winches is to buy the biggest you can afford and bigger is better.
