i dont know about your way but here the elk dont seem to run far....we just find one on the side of the road...turn the dog down and we usualy have to patch him up and put him back in the truck 15 min later.....here they just seem to stand and fight...not much running....

im working on almost this same issue...im going to make a smaller dog box to fit in the front of the bed of the truck...then put the sled in...and i dont know what to do with the sled trailer yet...well cuz i dont have one yet...but i would like to see your set up....

i may not get as cold as some but we can get to 20 below and colder with windchill...but this is what i figured.....

first what ever material you use the thicker the harder the better...

2nd a rectangel shape is alwase better....the dog can sleep offside of the door which means not as much wind ...

good light

well ive only ben coon hunten 6 years....but i found that the blazer 21 volt belt light was the best....now they run arround $325.00....BUT....from all the coon hunten ive done there are two things you should never never never go cheep on.....coon boots and a light.......just my opnion...

friday night hunt and saturday night hunt

friday night went great for me but for a couple of others in the goupe it wasent good...but we ended up with 4 coon....went out saturday night riged one droped two dogs and two young dogs and ended up with split trees and three coon...it was great...

my blue dog is not out of anything special...

magnum and tullies breeding...
magnum is a local blood...shes not a world beater but we kill coon....good rig dog...good roaden dog....i wouldent trade her for the world...now i have some i would...lol...
