Thanks for the info. I figured that with a coop full of hay or shavings and plenty of exercise they wont suffer any ill effects. Thanks again,
Dave

Cattle Mats in Kennel?
Hey Guys. I am going to be moving to a new house this spring and plan to put up a kennel. The dogs will have coops inside my barn with covered runs off the side. I have looked through several posts and have some good ideas. I understand some of negative effects of a concrete slab, however I need to ...

Re: Timber Chopper or Wagner Knightrider
Hey Coolerman. I live in Southern VT and have a 2 yr old Timberchopper female. We have been hunting her on bear for about 1 1/2 seasons now and she is doing great. She is loud, fast, and sticks it out. She has started to strike and trees every breath most times. Last week on a hot night she stuck it ...

Re: Vermont Bears?
If you happen to find the bears let us know!! We have been struggling for weeks also. one corn field is left standing and there seems to be a few bears there every couple days but with that being over an hour away its tough. We have walked oak ridges that usually have bears but nothing just tons of ...

Re: percent of animals treed to animals harvested?
I have not yet treed that many bears, and have only shot one for the dogs last year. I agree that the shooting is the least of the enjoyment in this game. The poll in my opinion could have a way of skewing the %. If you answer 1 in 10 thats 10% but if you actually only shot 1 but treed 100 thats ...

False Tree
Just looking for some ideas on what happened to us today. We had struck a small bear on the road and put a few dogs down. They Trailed slowly for a few minutes and then really got up and going up the ridge. At this time I let my pup go and she headed up the ridge behind them. About 20 minutes in and ...

Starting a Hound Supply
Hello Everyone,
My name is Dave, I am from southern VT. Lately it has begun to bother me that we have no local hound supply shops, or even anyone who sells stuff out of his basement or at the hunts. Seems to me that there is an oppurtunity to make a little hunting money and be around for all the ...

Re: Yote numbers up or down?
Here in Southern VT they definately seem to be growing in #'s. Been thinking about getting one of those fox pro's to cut down on them. I am a little confused at the statement that someone wants less deer. Feel free to send them our way. With the 3 1/2 feet of snow we just got and the yote's we'll be ...

Re: How many dogs do most people put on a bear?
Here in VT we can only have 6 anyway. We like to use 3 or 4. As guys have said a good one can get it done alone in the right situation, but I do like the safety in #'s. 3 or 4 seems to be good, more than that and they seem to get bunched up and not work as well together. Think of any project you ...

Re: WV bear hunters
We use them in VT and have had great luck. they do lose signal now and then but usually only for a minute or two. For us we hunt after work alot and being able to know exactly where the dogs are as dark approaches saves us alot of late nights or early mornings before work searching for dogs if they ...

Re: pole on the best bear hunter in your state
Hey Guys. Im from southern VT and I don't know too many hunters but in my area and most of VT people say Danny Luke is one of the best. We hunt with him quite a bit and rarely go without a tree. He treed between 80 and 90 last year I believe and has on dog who only failed on one bear out of 40 or 50 ...

Re: Snowmobile sleds
I would 2nd on the Jet sleds they are awful. The stiff hitch system is weak and unreliable and they seem to tip over easily. Have been trying to get an otter sled for a while now but as you said the shipping is nuts and its hard to find someone with them in stock.

Re: Hey Guys !
Im not sure if you can run them after the 7th or not. As far as I know there is no specification in the law book. That leads me to believe that you can't. With bears the running season is specifically listed in the book but nothunh on cats so I assume that you can't run outside of kill season but if ...
