Re: CAMERONS?
I think there are a lot of good posts on this board.. For the record, I have heard & seen many good things from Jim's dogs. I grew up pretty close to him, and he has always had a good reputation as a breeder and hound man. In fact, I can't think of a single negative thing that I've heard from so...

Re: CAMERONS?
Is the Vaughn breeding a name of a blood line or is Vaughn an old time hunter that put his name on the papers like Cameron? Well it's both.. but Elbert Vaughn is the man. Whether we call a bloodline by someone's last name, the name of a dog, or whatever else we choose it still originated from a bre...

Re: CAMERONS?
Got back home and thought I'd post the pedigree info on Del's origin breeding stock.. I believe (and someone correct me if I'm wrong) but, you can take just about any modern Cameron dog back to these 6 Dogs belonging to Del.. (I don't have more than a 3 generation ped on Savage Sam handy..) Nell is ...

Re: CAMERONS?
So my question is taking the "cameron" out what blood lines did his dogs originate from. In short.. Any current dogs with the Cameron name originated from mostly Clearwater & Vaughn Dogs. (With a few exceptions.) We could get to specific dog names, but after his first few generations ...

Re: CAMERONS?
The coment that Dell hunts hus dogs or has someone hunt them hard before he breeds them is not true!!!! I talked to him last year and he said he had a 5 year old male that he wanted to sell he bought him when he was 2 bred him for 3 years and he said the guy he got him from put him on one lion. So ...

Re: should i get this dog?
If you're just getting started & this 8mnth old pup is from a friend of yours, I'd assume he's got some hounds that are working now?? May not be a bad move getting the pup if you can throw in with dogs you can trust to do the job..

Re: should i get this dog?
Apart from obedience and fun exposure to the woods, I wouldn't really start a dog hunting much younger than 8 months.. Some do it differently as it depends on the dog, but I don't think you'd be in a bad spot at all trying this dog out. Frankly, some will sell a dog at 8-10 months that is "star...

Re: CAMERONS?
Del doesn't breed any dogs until they've been hunted hard. He can't hunt himself anymore, but he sends his dogs to be hunted. I'll let him tell you where and with whom if he chooses to do so. Del is a good man and his reputation as a houndsman and breeder was earned well before his book was written....

Re: Oklahoma Bobkitty
I thought I had included the 1st key part of this, but in my hurried post, I didn't quite clarify... We caught this Tom in a live trap and cut him loose to work my young Ruger dog in a controlled situation.. It was a lot of fun, and good for the dogs as we're still working on getting this Southern b...

Oklahoma Bobkitty
**We caught this cat in a live trap** It was a pretty quick chase after we cut em loose (Maybe 1/4-1/2 mile total).. He pulled a fast one on my Tana dog, we were on top of the hill watching the show and we spotted the cat working along the lakeshore where we were running him. Tana was fast approachi...

Re: GPS Navigation
I'd lean more towards Garmin for standard nav units.. but if you're between the 3, I'd go with Tom-Tom for reputation and price. Check Costco.com for pricing, even if you're not a member. Garmin and Tom-Tom will be cheap this year for Christmas. Black Friday Best Buy and Walmart will have the Garmin...

Re: Kidney Failure
Was she roughed up at all anytime in the last year or so? Bear knock her around or a bad fall? I've heard of kidney damage as old as a few years waiting to manifest itself slowly over time.. A rough hit from a bear could damage the kidney and cause it to fail.. Whatever the source of the problem is,...
