Re: Bear transmits infection to dog?

Had the same thing happen and my vet ended up giving me human antibiotic about the 3 time of almost getting better then a few runs and wore down again, that stronger antibiotic worked.

Re: Coonhound heeler cross for bear?

You bet, he's feeling his age now and just walks with me until he knows it's getting good then he will look at me like you know what's going on down there, and then off he goes. Lost him this year for 4 days. Was running a bobcat that took us off into some nasty cliffs and boulder pile and the hound...

Re: Just something I find amusing

I don't think we have a clue how smart some dogs are, I also run my dogs when I get home and feed. I have three different spots to go make a loop, they may get after a coon or field lion but we jump tons of rabbits and deer and makes good training for young dogs, but they get really smart as to wher...

Re: Coonhound heeler cross for bear?

This red heeler is 11 years old and has hunted with my hounds his whole life. He can trail and catch night old lion tracks and is all about a bear that wants to walk. Then he has also been with me while filling deer and elk tags, have called in bulls with him sitting right by me. Gonna miss him when...

Re: question on deer breaking

I agree breeding is important but not as important to doing things consistently. I had said before that my dogs are way different then 10 years ago and the difference was me not the breeding. I expected more out of them in things like not trashing. I have a pretty straight pack now and like Dewey ha...

Re: Lion Hound Athletic Factor

When I exercise dogs I go past this dairy that has a bunch of cement barriers stacked together, the field lions tend to hang in those barriers and can tell the pups I keep because they can run a nd catch in those barriers. Some have that athletic ability and some just looking dumb trying.

Re: Cold nosed plotts?

Mike thanks for the post but like most posts that get people excited it got a little of so can I ask about Cecil Ralston. The man I got my blood from ran with Cecil back in the 80's and they crossed a Bluetick Cecil had that he called Smoke with a female of Randal's. Was curious if Cecil had any dog...

Re: question on deer breaking

Good read so far we all do things different that's for sure but I would like to take it one step further. One thing I've noticed is my pack of dogs now are a lot different then the dogs I had 10 years ago(same blood). I think this is because I understand things better now. One thing we keep hearing ...

Re: Alpha + TT15

I first got the 220 and 40 collars and couldn't believe how nice that was compared to the beep beep. This is my first year using the alpha and tt15's and it was almost the same kind of wow. Like others said the seem to pick up faster after a loss and as long as I'm reading the dog I've been able to ...
