Nitzel's Black Slick was a solid black AKC Black and Tan. He appears in alot of AKC pedigrees today.

Re: lee brothers
There was a man in B.C. by the name of Dan Lay, I believe, who had some. I don't know if he still does or not.

Where'd Tennessee Lead come from?? Tell me a bit more about this hound. What was his lineage? What place does he have in the breed? What impact? Starting when?

Re: B&T/Walker Cross?
No, buddy, listen to Spanky and DWD. Your results will be far more favorable and predictable in the near and far future. You may even want to talk to them in person and have a good explanation why. Just my opinion.

Re: Old fashioned
Hey, Mort, before you write, learn to read. It might help. Yeah, Hans was looking but for the most part unsuccessfully. Also, whether you are aware of it or not, in the beginning and all the way up through to the early 1990's most of the hounds that are now AKC registered were dual registered AKC/UK...

Re: Old fashioned
I would love to post some pics for you, but as of this writing I'm still too stupid to post pictures so I would like to thank oakridge for as much as doing it for me, as it turns out that oakridge and I have some very similar blood and the pictures he posted could have been taken in my back yard for...

Re: Old fashioned
May surprise you, but UKC standard was once even more similar to AKC standard, until breeding for a different type became prevalent, then it evolved into todays standard. I have pics of UKC hounds from the 1930's and they don't look nothin' like what you see today. Standard ain't nearly as important...

Re: Old fashioned
Yes, I know Veronica. She raises quite a few. I haven't talked to her in a while, though. There are a few others around the country, but they aren't easy to find and pin down because of the division between hunters and show folk. Very few do both with these type of hounds but I know a couple of peop...

Re: Old fashioned
OK, guys, let me clear this one up. Old fashioned, long-eared Black & Tans are, for the most part the AKC registered variety, before recent developments in AKC that allowed the UKC type hounds to register with all that FSS baloney. There are some distinctive differences between the two types. Mo...
