Re: Lion Killing Ranchers!!!!
“POS ranchers”. Perhaps we should start a thread titled “POS wannabe lion hunters”? The challenge is to catch a LIVE lion! Heck, any dog can catch a dead lion!

Re: Dry ground dog question
Dadgum! I love my sister, but I sure don't have any plans of layin around and smootchin on her!!
The more time you spend hunting lions on bare ground, the more you will learn that the ONLY consistency is it's a challenge! Keep at it and those pot kickers will have no choice but to get better.

That's hilarious Mark!! If we're not careful, this will end up in the coffee shop!
Dean Warren makes circles with his fifth wheel these days. I think that he calls Oklahoma home now, he was making a pass every fall through Tonto Basin to fish Roosevelt, but I don't know if he's still stopping or not.

Steve would probably know if Bill doesn't remember. I'm going out on a limb here, and vote Dean Warren.

Re: Sanderson TX
You're welcome to check in with me anytime! Just not after 6:30 in the evening- I go to bed early, so's I can wake up early. Probably shouldn't call or come by before 9:30 in the morning - I have to rest a little later than I used to. Any time's good. Just watch the time in the late morning. I've us...

That was a nice video Brett! ALL of the old timers and the sure enough real deals that aren't looking for notariety and fame, all hunt lions for the same reason - the dogs. It's rare in today's hound environment to find a young hunter that isn't making it about the dead lion.

Re: Who Uses Decoy Dogs?
Good luck Mike. I got two young dogs from Packojack, sent them to a guy over here in Lovington, NM to get trained on. I paid for training, and he raised a litter of pups out of one of my females. That wasn't part of the plan!!! Both of my dogs disappeared. I have info that he sold them. I looked all...

Re: Dry ground lion hunting -- jumping chollas cactus ???
I know that I'm reading things into this, so if I'm wrong, forgive me. If you have never had a pack of big game hounds, you might have bitten off more than you should have. To start from nothing, and then to jump completely in with both feet, well, it can be tough! Let's just say that you bought a q...

The hound world lost a jewel today!
This morning Karen Holcumb passed away. Karen was one of the rare women to find a niche and become successful in the world of lion hunters. She was also one of the ever dwindling members of "the old timers". Karen hunted with Dale and Clell Lee, Bill Workman, Hershall Downs, and many other...
