Re: Irish Wolfhound x Lab

the dane gives them a fair nose (not like a hound but fair). this dog was used in creating some early american staghounds (1870s-1910s) by crossing w/greyhounds.

The stags were here a lot earlier than 1870.. I have seen greys and Stags run and they have a true double gate and a IW dose not, if ...

Re: Irish Wolfhound x Lab

The Wolf hound went extinct before the 1900 and the "new" wolf hound is not even related to the old one (its perinees/dane crosses linebreed) and is not a hunting dog and can not run like it should..

Re: hog hunting patterdale terriers

I have had GREAT luck with the Patterdale Jagd crosses and I got a Lurcher(GreyXPit/Airedale) that will do anything you ask of him, I think the combo of terrier and lurcher works great.. If you want a dog to run and catch I would get a real good Staghound as I have seen them wind their own game and ...

Re: trouble sealing the deal?

A Terrier and a coon in a berry bush make for a good time.... If the terrier can hold it for a min the big dogs can get there and help out..

Re: Anyone hunt coon in the day time?

I hunt coon all the time in the day but with Terriers & Lurchers not hounds.. I always find them in the Briers... The places I hunt are small and close to town so the hounds dont work well but the terriers get something every time..

from what folks have told me that have seen most of the pack, alot of these coyotes are weighing in at 40-50lbs, which I know sound unbelievable, but when they give ya the dimensions its really aint.

40lbs would be pushing it for yotes in your area, my friends hunt that same area w/ stag ...

Re: Coyote Hounds

I need to know if anybody out there has or knows of a good strain of running coyote hounds?

I am thinking Julys or running walkers. dogs that can run and catch.I have a freind that is doing coyote work in an area where you can't trap and shooting, and calling them is not very productive because ...

I know my terrier friends have a real problem w/ this.. I did see a way to treat your dog after fighting a coon that can help them from getting it.. I will see if I can find it.. The guy's terriers had been on over 500 coon and had never gotten it..
