Re: rivers and shelf ice

A very good conversation guys. I was born, and raised in Northern Wi. As David and other folks said, its simply a way of life. Best put, my dogs have a tough career. I do everything in my power, to bring them home everytime I go out. I try to stay out of wolf infested area's, packs of known dog kill...

Re: Why Running and Running dog X are the best cat dogs

Kickemall Theres that "put up or shut up" thing you were talking about in another post. I'm well aware of the laws in California but just because I live here doesn't mean its the only place I hunt. I'm sure there are a lot closer places for you to put your cat dogs on bear and see for you...

Re: Astro...entering coordinates?

Thanks Paul and Buddy. It will come in handy as a cheat sheet, a couple of times, as I participate in a equine mounted search and rescue. Our next search, were not only going to use my garmin as my gps, were going to hang a collar on each saddle to know where everyone is, and being sure of the groun...

Re: best truck radio?

We all use the 2200 Icoms, yes, my mike finally went bad after three years. You can buy the mic switch from any icom dealer for 2.85$. You, or any radio, or tv place can put them in. The reason, I use them, is my hand helds are very similiar to program, like the truck radio. Also, the icom, you can ...

Re: Eating Crow - 1 Dog Catches a Bobcat

Dog Boy, now thats funny, you clay boys dont have to eat crow much, but you own sorry mutts, you learn the taste of crow, and get use to it   Heck, I called dog boy, and told him, I was up for the challenge, I had a mutt that catches a cat once in a while, send money, and I would see him s...

Re: Bells

I run bells more for when a dog is coming for a road it is easier to cut them off. As for dogs getting away without bells, wolves were born to hunt, don't you think they would scent your dog instead of listening for it to run away. I guess to each his own. I have to agree in theory wolves, are natu...

Re: Bells

I would be as curious of area, perhaps in more open area, or open wooded the bells would work better? I choose not to use them in this thicker country, as I feel the dog has a chance to get away?

Re: Police officer pepper spraying a baby squirrel story

Funny George, leave it up to you, I guess to only top the embarasment, of pepper spray, would be to empty his clip   I guess the humor is the thing was so small, my first thought would have been to use a wisk broom, or throw a shirt over it, or even a box, until animal control arrived. If ...

Re: Police officer pepper spraying a baby squirrel story

Briarpatch, Im not sure how to look up the video on you tube now, but the little squirrel, could fit in the palm of your hand or your shirt pocket. I would think the average third grader boy, would have been able to stomp it. It was in a parking lot or school entrance, bluffing the officer, the aver...

Re: BIG JOHN MULE

LOL! That shit about the redbones and black and tans had me rolling. I'd buy that mule off you in a second if we lived closer. Come on Dan, part with a little of that money. I bet you could find a ride this spring, as there is usually someone around here, going out to the spring sales, in MT. or WY.

Re: Looking for Some black and tan bear dogs?

My suggestion is stay with dogs out of WI.,that is getting the job done, in this water, and thick stuff, if your hunting b&t's. There was a guy over around Ladysmith treeing some bear, and getting the job done, with his a while back, Pm me and I can get you a few phone numbers, of hard hunters ov...
