What's the difference in a Gascon and a bluetick I have a red tick I use on hogs she doesn't look as houndie as the Gascon on here I wonder would thd Gascon make a decent hog dog ? Do they track slow or fast?

How far do you like your dogs to range? Mine are medium and it works for me especially on small blocks.But I wish I had one long ranged dog that would get deep when the hogs are hard to locate.

I think your cross will catch if you run more than 2. I wouldnt put more than 2 at a time on the ground. I would suggest if you want to hunt hogs get you a curr dog start with 1 see how you like it. They dont come cheap trained up though I started all mine from pups in a bay pen and they do alright now but I have hunted the population down on my land they are getting harder to find every year I catch a...

Like the post above states bird dogs a good option I have currently some dog's 1/2 Pit 1/4 bird dog 1/4 Catahoula . I am gonna breed them back 1 more time to a catahoula or BMC hopefully to tone them down a little and im done I hope. The dogs I have really have to much pit they are just to brave can...

I had a fine little plott cat cross half and half silent until he was eye to eye. I heared from old timers half and half is a 50% shot of a silent trail dog 1/4 75% chance of a silent dog I like 1/8.

Plott man I would go $200 on the dog sounds like the making of a good dog I personally dont care to chase a bear and would have to do alot of training to keep her from trashing its hard to break them once they start but if I go to hunt hogs I want to see a hog when they bay some folks might like to ...
