Re: magnum vr 500 question???

I use a vr-500. I have bear hunted and coon hunted using it. I have it mounted on a wildlife mini and it is so handy i carry it all the time. If you use the booster the range is about as good as most. When i hook it to the yagi the system as is as good or better an mt-8000. The cost is why i got it ...

Re: Washburn Walkers

Mr, Pacojack is correct about the treeing trends of these hounds. They are usually a sitback tree dog. I have had some that would try to tear the tree down but most are content to keep the game there until we arrive. I like this because it almost never causes a problem at the tree.

Re: Washburn Walkers

Bill,
Did you get moved? My winter was a bust had to coon hunt alot but had a good time anyway. Saw coon on a very consistant basis which makes feeding these hounds easier. We will try to make a hunt this summer.

Re: Washburn Walkers

My partner and myself have been hunting Washburn bred dogs for 15+ years. We find then to usually be above average, of course some as with any hounds turn out to be culls. Most make exceptional hounds, we have used them on coon and bear mostly. Love them enough to be continuing to breed for the best ...

Re: picking puppies

Gerry Washburn once told me if you have a gender or color you are looking for get that, after that he said you have about as good a chance by closing your eyes reaching in and getting one. I have the same talent as Spruce Mtn. If i pick it it will be bad.

bears and Decoys

I talked to the LEO on the ferry, he told me they were successful several times and that they were trying to get more help for the island. He said the problem was new shooters every week. Some of the road/bridge hunters we saw were on the ferry with us, i never noticed them getting too close to the ...
