Turned em over and...
First of the spring pup litters hit the ground. Turned em over and one had two peckers. Looked at his mouth and I thought he had a bad under bite. Then I figured out he was just smiling... (he was as happy as a two peckered pup) Ok, ok, just joking. I did turn them over and find 7 males, all had onl...

Re: Do Cameron bred dogs make good Bobcat Dogs
Good luck with your Cameron. They can catch a cat. I agree, although intensely persistent, mine do straddle more than I'd prefer. They are not quiet on track either. I can tell you this though... I wouldn't hunt a pack of bobcat dogs without at least one in the pack. They can sniff out and start a t...

Re: Two Pack's
I have sixteen hounds and often run two or more packs. I do it when there are lots of tracks. I have even started multiple races at the same time. I usually have multiple rigs and hunters with tracking equipment involved in multiple days. I love those days when everything is moving. You can get real...

Re: Garmin alpha training buttons
My old tritronics used to shock the houndsman sometimes when I pressed the buttons. I still haven't finished out right yet.

Re: At The Tree???
Put em in the tree and hold them there and call me to the tree, don't care how. I hate a dog that leaves the tree to greet me and lets animals jump out when nobody is home. Turn the camera off, cause I am gonna have a fit when this happens.

Re: trapping a stout
Just put a couple number one footholds on a 2x4, secure the board with a 45 degree slant. Securely wire bait, fresh meat, at top of board near last foothold. They are not that hard to catch unless they get educated. Let me know if it works. Small conibears work as well, but most people don't have th...

Re: Cutting From The Team
"Brains" the ability to use the tools you have to outsmart prey. Many times these thinker hounds outperform hounds with greater gifts depending on the situation. If you don't know what I'm talking about, its possible you've never seen a hound like this. They are rare.

Re: runnin breed vs tree hound
I don't know a single breeder that honestly believes they have the perfect hounds. Although I do know a few that advertise such a thing. Nobody can do it all in a lifetime. Its a constant struggle to improve what we were given by ole timers. And that is why we use other houndsmen's names beyond thei...

Re: runnin breed vs tree hound
All, I repeat all treeing hounds are running dogs crossed into dogs with treeing ability. It doesn't matter if it was done now or a hundred years ago. There has always been strains of hounds not used for competition cooning. Attempting to claim you get something that did not already exist when u cro...
