I am of the belief of the better the female the better the pups the male has to be good also you have to breed the best to the best and we breed very tight also some say to tight but it has worked for us over the years

I agree with the caution I had a fella that hunts with us a couple times a year ask about breeding his kemp male that he got from a guy that got it from a guy who got it from kemp to a registered old blood female I have he asked me what the breeding was on my female I told him kemp he was doing back...

Spring bears are skinny and spring hounds are fat lol but the spring bears in Canada do run better than the fall bears

I use a ruger carbine in 44 mag with the 240 grains slower cartridge does a number but no pass through just goes in and stays in. The caliber is not as important as shot placement imho
