Re: Replacing GPS antenna on DC50

Never mind. Found them. Actually I had already taken them out, they are up in the rubber strap, which was totally rotted away on the collar I was working on. But the brass connector for the gps antenna cable was stuck in on that collar and I ended up having to get a pair of needle nose and get ahold ...

Replacing GPS antenna on DC50

I have a bad GPS antenna on a DC50 collar. Garmin doesn't work on them any more but I have a junk collar (bear bit it) for parts and looked online and they also sell replacement GPS antennas for them. my problem is the one tutorial I found http://www.gfixer.com/en/blogs/view_entry/12855/ I had ...

Re: CALIFORNIA; WOLF IN LASSEN COUNTY

If you think that OR7 walked from Imnaha to California you are as gullible as the F&G thinks are.

Wolf video

Here is an anti-hunting/anti-trapping wolf video. Some Alaskans on another site were complaining about recognizing pictures on it that had been pulled from the internet without permission of the people pictured. When I watched it I recognized several pictures from Idaho, and some of people from this ...

Re: best way to hunt wolves

And Liz, please don't suggest padded jaws, the rubber jawed traps do much more foot damage due to blood restriction to the foot than a plain offset steel jaw.

Re: best way to hunt wolves

Yes in Idaho there is a requirement for either a stop or breakaway on wolf snares (a breakaway that will hold a wolf will definitly hold a dog) many stops on wolf snares are placed out far enough they will not choke out a dog, there is no distance requirement on the stops however. Most chain broke ...

Re: TURNING COLLARS OFF!!!

I used to run all Johnson collars, and liked them, had some refurbished and they were as good as new. I still think the new ones are good collars, but the last 4 or 5 I had refurbished were garbage just like Cassandra described. I also had a Wildlife collar that lost its range, I sent it in to get ...

Re: Batteries

I am having the same problem, all of a sudden the collar won't take a charge, and it is only a couple months old. I have it unplugged as I am writing this, so we will see if it cures the problem. I am hoping it will because it was a sudden problem, the collar worked fine, then one morning I went ...

Re: Thoughts on 320 vs 220 or waiting for new systems

While I check semi regularly at the Marshall site to see if they have anything new on their GPS system this is the first I have heard of Wildlife coming out with one. And there is nothing on their website about it. Where could I find any information on it?

Re: hamm radios

Yes, if you are running in the 2 meter band, not sure if you are running in other bands such as UHF. Anything close to the marine bands will also be close to the Garmin freqs and so cause problems, also many ham radios have more power than marine radios, so would probably be even worse.

Re: Terrier Tracking Collars.

Johnson makes, or at least used to make a ultralight puppy/beagle collar, much smaller than their hound collars, that only weighed 4 ozs. Marshall collars are also fairly small. Other brands make light collars, but these are the two smallest bulkwise that I know of, and I assume bulk would be even ...

Re: Sueing Garmin

If you live along the coast it is illegal to use the marine frequencies on dry land, within 250 miles of the water. (I think don't quote me on the distance). In the interior though it is legal to use them.

Re: Sport Dog TEK 1.0GPS + E-Collar

would also like to see a review, they say it won't be out til July, 15, but they had to have some field testers. You can order just a gps collar or a gps/shock collar. The plain gps collar and the reciever are comparable pricewise to the garmin, if they are reliable they will take a huge chunk out ...
