American lepord hound
Female, Registered (puppy papers), about 15 or 16 months old. Black and tan in color. Big bawl mouth. Well built dog, handles easy.
Dog has been verry lightly started on hogs, she will tree a house cat also. LOL I think she would go to coon easily.
Nothing wrong with her, she just doesnt know ...

Re: Deer with Hounds
The still hunters are pushing for restrictions here now. They move here from god only knows where, buy 5 acres in the middle of 60,000 acres that is hounted by dogs and then gripe about them.
They are also pushing for antler restrictions and limmits because they got suckered on crappy hunting land ...

Re: Deer with Hounds
We can still run them with hounds. Our season is september to January.
We typically use running walkers (fox hounds) beagles and crosses of the two. We surround a block of woods, release the hounds and with any luck you will be able to put yourself in the deer's path. Usually use shotguns with ...

Your best bet for a sure nuff, get it done by himself on anything dog, is to stick w/ the bully breeds.
Some other breeds may catch but also may lack the physical strength and determination to do what has to be done. Cur dog may catch 100 hogs but when one hurts him bad enough he may let go. GOOD ...

$100 is pretty average for a bulldog around here. Get some free, most I will pay is about $150 and those were catching. Baydog prices will varry, just remember big price does not always equal big quality.

Tracking system amplifier?
Saw a fellow the other day w/ one of these on his tracking box. He said it added some range to his box. Have any of you had any experiance with them? I was thinking about trying one.

"On the other hand, I do not agree with the opinion that you should not get into hog hunting just because you like your dog. I have been hunting wild hogs with dogs since 1991 and during that time I have taken over 3000 hogs and have never had a dog killed by hogs."
