Re: Bobcat trapping
I agree with cubby and dirt hole, feather will work, but I always use some old strands of cassette tapes hung on tree limb, it seems to get their attention better and when you are targeting cats you need to set more than one trap set a couple about 20 yards out from the tape, cats lose interest fast ...

You guys ever use Myers Bred black and tans for bear?
If so how did they do? And did you like them? I raise them for coon and most of them are great track dogs, they seem to throw a lot of cold nosed dogs or at least mine does. I was just wondering?

Re: Coon huntin in the rain
It really doesn't matter about the weather critters has to eat, A good moist ground will hold scent better, than drought dry ground, a heavy rain will wash the scent away faster, & will cause them coons to look for shelter to, after the down pours they will stir. To me the only thing that affects ...

Re: Bobcat training season
You would think, running a dog is running a dog, doesn't matter what they are running, it is the same, from the way I see it a cat hound and coon hound have the same process run and tree, In TN you can run your dog year round on coon and season is from NOV -Feb.

Re: building a roll cage, any pics will help
I use to build them using 20 inch bycycle rims, don't have any pictures but all I did was remove the spokes, get som wire with 1 inch holes, a 12gauge, or 14 gauge welded wire works best, or what we call rat wire you can get at Lowe's or any hardware store. A 2foot X 10 foot piece will work, roll ...

Re: Do cur dogs make good bobcat dogs?
The reason I ask is my cur dog has only been hunted on squirrell and coon, but anytime a house cat comes through the neighbor hood he goes wild, even more so than he does on coon and squirrell, I started to start shocking him off them but don't want to discourage him from treeing. I also have read a ...
