GPS is all i can say. since i learned how to use one i hate being in the woods without it. when the dogs are baying,the only thing on my mind is getting to the them. if the bear keeps backing, it's not hard to loose track of which way your traveling. the gps tells exactly where you are, your truck ...

as far as i know that is highly illegal in maine. i would recommend you stay clear of that situation.

hey scott, how'd you make out last winter. the conditions were lousy. i'd say we lost 2/3 of the season to crust.

with enough exposure to strangers the dog may come out of it, but more than likely, even if he acts better, the fear will always be in the back of his mind. the question you need to ask yourself is; is the dogs potential worth taking the risk of some kids face being scared for life???

i need to get a map and don't know which one would be best for bear hunting. i have a pn 40 with topo usa 8.0 and i like the map except it should zoom out one more time before loosing road detail if you know what i'm talking about. what are you guys using and how do you like it
