Ukc has rewritten the Plott Standards starting 1/1/2020. The biggest change is: you can now register solid buckskin & blacks.
Here's a link to the UKC's Plott Standards page. Hope it works and wish all a Happy New Year!!!

Re: Idaho Bear Hunters Need your Help!!!!!!!
Been a while since I've said this, but once again I can say I'm proud to be a member of the IHA. I got a call about his last night myself. Sounds like to me you guys have all "the clips loaded and are ready to go to war" for our sport once again. Good job guys! And good Organization and Leadership ...

Re: wolves

The same pack is suppost to of killed 5 more dogs on Indian Mountain on the 3rd of this month. The old female that ...

Re: Guide in Idaho, Units 32/ 32a proposal?
hyde, like you, I decided to back out of this just to see what the input of others was. And thank you for finally bringing forth the start of the true threat here. I tried to bring it forth before, but unfortunately, it seems I did go over some heads with that last one.

huntnplay, by your writings you definitely have your "intentions" in the right place, but I think your missing a little info about Idaho Outfitters.

Re: Guide in Idaho, Units 32/ 32a proposal?
On this site I once told of why, when and what the different options were that we had when the Hound Permit was established. At the end of that I indicted my displeasure of what it had become. It was created to limit the Out of Stater's so areas of this State wouldn't be over run with Houndsman. A ...

Re: Guide in Idaho, Units 32/ 32a proposal?
Mr. Brush Cr., your right, actions speak for themselves. That's what I tried to point out. We all are "judged" by what we do and the results that follow. Ever one on this site that has hunted this country know what was and what is.
And by the way, I have no problem backing my words one tiny bit. I ...

Good words!!! Good impute!!!
I am a little confused about what, if any, jurisdiction the Forest Service (a Federal Agency) has on what and who hunts what and how anywhere in Idaho. This is the role of the State Agencies like the Idaho Outfitter and Guides Board and the Idaho Fish and Game. But ...

Re: Hound hunters permit
It started around the mid 80's, about two years after Washington lost their spring season. Montana had never had a bear season with dogs. And it was just before the Grizzly Corridor was established. These three factors combined is what cause it to be put in place. And what it was set up to be is ...

Re: Old Fashion Plott Lines?
Mr. Mellor, First you say you promote Leo Dollins Line of dogs. Then you promote Brandenburgers Pioneer dogs. Which is it your trying to defend or promote with this. Saying a Dollins dog is the same has a Pioneer dog because of looks and size is like calling a apple and a tomato the same because ...

Re: ursus plotts
Mr. fish eater, your more than welcome to come and hunt anytime you wish. But May ain't that great unless it's the last week. Turkey season gets over the 23rd and that's when a huge area we call the bear study area opens up. Our season opens up April 15th in the others areas, but snow usually stops ...

Re: ursus plotts
Mr. fish eater. Thanks for asking a good question respectfully. First let's establish what should be called a cull. To me, simply because I try to have only the best, or above average, to further the Line, I would say that's a fair judgement. But for those that only want a dog to hunt, I personally ...

Now, there's a great suggestion!!! Stay in this sport and World long enough, you'll learn you can't miss all the crap out there that there is to step in. If your one that cares more about crap than a good dog, please don't call and ask to get a dog from us. Go to those others out there and try to ...
