We use the cable system. Dogs can run them and it works great until the dog breaks/wears out a cable/chain connector. Most dogs will get used to doing their buisness at the opposite end of their food bowl and thats a plus. But it also takes up a good bit of room.

Has anyone out there been through this process if so please send any information my way.

coonhunter, It all depends on the dog. I have had pups out at 6 months. Its good to have them out and about early and often as you can even if its not hunting just out for a walk/ getting the handle down on your pup. Just take your time with your pup! jmo

I have one of these vest. It works great. Fits good and the 3 big pockets are good for garmin, shocker. There is another pocket that will fit a radio. The holster is a little iffy, but it has a belt.

Bear/Cat Box- I have one of these boxes. I like mine alot. I have one for a small truck and it does have some size issues.
