i have been around a few dogs that have done that most of them are comp coon dogs from back east then they come west hunt biggame and false tree like crazy never knew y but they were all heavy jet breed :?

sometimes they catch right out the gate, other times they get a little grittier as you hunt them. it all depends on the individual dog. get you a smaller hog in a pen, nothing builds confidence in a dog like consistant training

i agree with just different.
ive never hunted outside of eastern NC and from all the bear hunting stuff i have read on hear, other websites and in books and magazines and seen in videos, there arent any other places similar to bear hunting in eastern NC except maybe georgia or parts of florida ...

Solo bear tree is one where no other dogs were involved. The dog either splits off or is put out by itself. Most guys don't intentionally do the second option for good reason.
Most bear that tree with one dog, aren't real tough bears. Just my opinion.

well if thats what yall call it, then yeah, all of our dogs have done it and not just treed but also bayed by their self on the ground (until the others got there). our woods are thicker than sht and most of the time you have to get within ten or fifteen feet of the bear just to see it. with the ...

but I try to listen to my races as best as I can and with the GPS it is pretty much of a certainty that it is the lead dog on a long run that catches up to the bear and most of the time the bear is up before the others get there . of course the LEAD dog gets there first, thats why he is called the ...
