Re: Coyote dogs on bear
I run coyote with the same dogs I use on bear, I have had a couple of bear runs end up in coyote runs but not very often. If I didn't use them on both they would be idle for a long time and I don't think that is very good for them. I use plotts and havent had any issues with them not catching game. ...

Re: Road drags
Good looking drag I like the spring to give it some down pressure my buddy has one like that but no spring and it tends to float on hard pack if you don't put a log on it. I have a springtooth drag that goes in the hitch but it is more straight up and down with a sleeve it slides in. I've used alot ...

Leo Dollins
Just heard Leo Dollins passed away yesterday and wanted to send my condolences to his family. I met Leo a few times and the older fellas I hunt with hunted with him alot and there were always some Leo stories flying around at camp. Quite a character he will be missed.

Re: Need bloodline info on plott!!
Even the best bloodlines throw culls now and again if the dog doesn't do what you want get rid of it and get one that will. That being said I don't know how old your dog is or how much its been hunted it may just need more time or more experience.

I get keeping antis out but the hunters need to be let in the broader o...

Yeah I run coyotes around here I use the same dogs on bear so I do the same thing as you and wait on the snow I do run cats occasionally and really like to but don't have a very good population of them around here there is no shortage of coyotes though.

Re: First run of the year in michigan
I didn't get out Saturday cause my son had a basketball game now I'm kicking myself for not going the rain wiped out all our snow. Oh well sounds like we're supposed to get some later in the week. Re: Hello from Sweden!
I'll agree that the plotts aren't the fastest breed out there but they are a tough durable breed if I could only run 2 dogs I'd probly use plotts. That being said I have a female plott walker cross from an accidental breeding that I really like alot I got lucky she's been blessed with the best of bo...

I have redbones and plotts with what your describing I think the plott dogs would interest you. They are tough dogs do well in the snow and have allot of grit. Also quite a few of them I'v...
