Re: Ladner BMC
I have hunted Ladner BMC's for 22 years now. I have always used mine for squirrel and coon. But I have sold a few pups to a guy in Wisconsin that uses them on Bears. He waits till the bear is jumped and then sends in the curs to put him up. He calls them the heat seeking missiles. They put the bear ...

Re: Easiest Hound Breed to Train
Haha. Trick question hey.
If you want easy then your not ready to be a houndmen.
Don't matter what breed you train it's all patience, understanding and dedication. You have to eat, breath and live hunting to have good dogs consistently.

Re: Do dogs have a terrible 2 stage?
For sure they do. Seen it in enough pups no matter what the breed. I've seen it in my BMC"s but in their case it usually runs anywhere from 7 months old to 3 years. Depending on the dog.

Re: cur dogs on Bear
I'd would venture to say that there aren't alot of all cur packs for bear out there. Depending on what type of cur your talking about. Your purebred Blackmouth Curs and Mountain curs and not going to start a 12 hour old bear. Hell they won't even start an hour old bear. It's either a hot track that ...

I sold a couple Blackmouth cur pups to a guy in Wisconsin that used them for bear. When the hounds jumped the bear they would send in the curs, as he called them the heat seeking missiles, to put it up a tree. He loved his for bear.

Re: Today's Adventure
My Blackmouth curs will flush and tree grouse. I use them for squirrel and coon and they don't get to far out so I consider a grouse a bonus. Nothing like an all around meat dog!!
