Re: what's the youngest dogs you ever treed a lion with?

Sounds to me like you have a pair of really nice pups. I don`t think you will find many pups much younger than that. Bay a lion on the ground then gave chase, put him up a tree.

Fine Breeding, keep them safe.

Re: wont lock in and tree

True Blue;
Glad the dog made it. It is hard to cull a dog that you spent so much time with.

What happens most of the time, the bears slides down the tree just as soon as that dog gets out of sight.

Pulls your pups off the tree, when a dog is looking for a track?
He is not barking, you always ...

Foxcat

You are so full of Bull$iiTT. If you can not say something positive? Just don`t show how dumb you are by trying to talk about something you know nothin about.

I thought it was a great story. No need to try to explain anything more to you.
When you opened your mouth, we all new you did not ...

Re: wont lock in and tree

I really hate to give you the reasons why this dog should be culled first order of business.
But here goes.

Some dogs just have been more interested in running scent tracks as apposed to being stay put tree dogs.

This can be caused from several things, I will list a few mistakes young hunters make ...

Re: Bear and Hog dogs

I like Cur Dogs:
I have not seen a whole lot of Cur Dogs used on bear hunting. Some are tight mouthed on track. Now this can be one of their greatest qualities.

I can say there has been some hunters that have used them around me in the last 30 years. Curs are very smart and if started out early on ...

Re: question about breeding

Dan;
If your walkers are from the right strain? No help is needed.
All of my dogs were from Calif. so I had no choice but breed to my Plott.
To much linebreeding, only makes for smaller dogs when you have only smaller dogs.

I would have like to loaded her up (Hooker Dog) and took her to Calif. for ...

Re: pups first coon hunt results!!

Mofo21;

Keep up the good training;
Don`t take my criticism to heart. I like what your doing.

When you have some great pups as you seem to have, there is no rush.

Age is what does the most good in young dogs. It is wintertime, no need to rush things.

This is the time to get them striking scent ...

If this is a Family Forum? PULL THIS POST

I must say that is not what our sport needs. I like to run hounds as much as the next.
But to show some gory killing of any animal is just not right.

This is why they banded the bear fights. If you want something like this for your personal library?

I say ...
