Re: difference between horses and mules

If you get a good mule, you've got something. If you get a sorry mule, you'll have the most miserable time of your life--if you live through it.

Mules remember ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING!! If you get off on the wrong foot together, things could be he'll for a long time.

I'm not trying to be a downer ...

Re: cats got them all.

Hippies, Are there still a few floating around? I thought ya just call them greenies, city slickers, antis and a$$holes, that's what I call em. Seriously tho, I agree with shorty, when the voting public passes this $hit into law it takes it all out of the hands of f&g and why aren't the wardens out ...

Re: cats got them all.

This is just one of many problems in California directly linked to the majority of the residents of our state. If we can develop a humane method of removing many many millions from the the SF/Sac and LA/SD metro areas it would be a good start. But I haven't any ideas, so I just pray for mother ...

Re: cats got them all.

Now let me start by telling everyone that although I live in Texas I am a Californian at heart. I was born and raised in that state and my roots are still there. However I will say that the real problem lies in the hands of the people of Ca. No, not you the hunters or sportsmen. I'm talking the ...

Re: 17 year old trying to start first pups

Also! Pertaining to taking a mountain lion in Ca, you may be able to it with a depredation permit or be hired by a person with one. You need to talk with a warden on this. I have dealt with a couple of them in C.C and they are both real easy to talk with. The DFG also contracts with cat hunters to ...

Re: 17 year old trying to start first pups

A fella on this site wrote a very good article on cat training. It should work for fox as well.
You just have to get the right stink! Ca has an overabundance of lions just not many deer anymore. Hopin to see it change.

Re: Who knows their pack saddle makers??

It's really interesting! It looks like it is an old Decker with a wooden tree? Someone has added hooks so it can be used as a sawbuck? I would like to know more! Hints??

To neuter or knot?

I have a pack of black and Tans and two males are becoming aggressive toward one another. How will neutering affect hunting ability? Ambition? Energy?

Thanks Much!

Re: Tying your horse

I don't know why you wouldn't remove the saddle before leaving the animal tied up. I, personally, take the mules out and let them roll before tying. If you are going to tie to a tree, tie high. It is frowned upon in this area to tie to a tree so we mainly use a sky-line.

Re: Help living with a lion

I don't deal with: might, maybe, probably when dealing with a threat. If it is a known threat, it is when? We have lost 6 cats, one dog to a lion. Neighbors have lost goats turkeys, dogs and cats! I have had to pump a half gallon of penicillin into a mule that was attacked by a lion! Not far from ...
