My astro 220 has not been working right for about a month now. Its started dropping collars at about 200 yards and woulndnt pick them back up until the dog was touching you. I used it in real bad weather yesterday and the screen froze up and none of the buttons work it would stay on the dog screen ...

David that didnt come off arrogant , I understand what your saying. I have never watched to see what pup was the smartest just which one was full of energy and out going. I am a rookie at this bobcat hunting but I am hoping that will change. Thanks again for all the info.

Alright I got to know how you guys know these younger dogs that dont start till a year or later are smart and what you are looking for? If you were starting a new pack with no older dogs to do the treeing, how would you go about this as far as not encouraging to tree? At what age do the dogs start locating trees well on there own? We had alot of lions this year. Alot of female with sub adults and a decent amount of small toms. Out of about 28 lions we only seen about three or four toms going over that 130 mark. It seemed like a good year for training young dogs but not so great for finding big toms. I think everyone agrees ...

Will you guys explain more on the loose tree dogs? I have been jumping almost every lion out to my dogs I usually have some younger dogs there and it seems to keep there interest. Should i not be doing this?

Well said slowandeasy I blame our fwp hear more then the predators. These guys couldnt manage a fish tank.

Tim mention that the cats were rutting. What time of year does this happen and why were they spreading out? Are they kinda the same as lions and the toms just check surrounding females? How many kittens do bobcats usually have?
