His barker is broke
So two weeks ago my male walker went horse, is super squeaky and his volume is low. I checked him out nothing obvious, doesn't seem sick and he is eating fine. His barker is just broke. Any ideas?

Re: pup question?
Sounds good thanks for the info, I've only had hounds a few years and my last pup is now about 3 1/2 and he was in the house until I told my wife last year that hunting with one dog was BS and went and got another one. The day I got that one he went out the door too. Thanks again

pup question?
How old do you all let pups get before you stick them out with the rest of the dogs at home? My last one was in the house a long time but I'm picking one up in a couple weeks and really don't want to keep it in longer than it needs to be. It will be about 6 weeks old when I get it. Thanks

Re: How much hunting?
I personally don't think it takes more than a certain number of days to justify having hounds. For me I look at a number of things and the biggest thing is what I get out of it, when I'm out with my dogs it's like hitting a reset button so I can stay sain. I also look at if my dogs are happy if I ...

Re: Garmin question
Thanks, for all the input I got concerned after hunting one day and I left my collars on all night to see if they would still have a charge the next morning. When I got up they were dead. I have been turning them on first thing in the morning because the guys I run with have beep collars so they ...

Garmin question
Ok since I'm pretty new at this and this is the first year I have had any real races I have run into battery life issues on my collars, we mostly rig the dogs and I turn my collars on first thing in the morning and run them all day thus wearing my batteries down. So question is do you leave your ...

First cat tree
Went out today with my buddy and our 11 year old sons along with the two gentlemen who have been kind enough to let me tag along with my two mutts and show me the ropes a little. The morning started pretty slow and the dogs only struck once from the rig. After a few hours it was looking like it was ...

Re: Respect
Well I have only been at this a couple of years, have read this site front to back and still can't figure much out. So far I've learned some of what not to do so feel free Mr Walton to keep sharing your knowledge because guys like me need it. It's hard to find folks to hunt with so this site and ...

Re: Advice for new guys wanted to get started from a new guy
Thanks for all the replies and advice really appreciate it. Gotta say I do agree with protecting your hearing. I'm 36 and already have pretty substantial hearing loss in my right ear and it rings all the time. I really noticed a difference in hearing the dogs last week one of the old dogs sounds ...

Advice for new guys wanted to get started from a new guy
WARNING THIS IS A COMPLETE RAMBLE!!!
Ok I thought I would share some of the stuff I have learned the hard way over the last two years. With that in mind I will say this has nothing to do with actually running your dogs but may help you in the future if your thinking about getting into hound hunting ...
