Re: Trailing in the desert

Good topic. Bobcat hunting is the most challenging hunting with hounds there is in my opinion. Intelligence and desire are the most important things a dog can have. Out here we need real good locating tree dogs. A lot of people want cold trailers but do not realize what a cold trailer really is. It...

Re: NOVEMBER

I hate to break it to you, but it doesn't matter who is voted into office. As long as someone else makes rules for how you live your life, especially any sort of politician, you are screwed Attitudes like that are what made California. Your votes do count and it absolutely does matter who you vote ...

Re: Looking for answers

I'd try and find out if WS or a private predator control company was running 44's in the area for predator control. There is also a chance there was an illegal crop growing down near the area and they will litter the area with rat poison and dogs love to eat it for some reason. Sounds like a poisoni...

Re: Ted Nugent on California Game Management

I'm sure most of us have lost a great hunting partner. Ted's song Fred Bear will bring you in some deep thought memories of that, or those people when you listen to it. I know it does me. For those that don't know who Fred Bear was, he is to archery as Ben Lilly or Dale Lee was to hound hunting. Dav...

Re: TT15 and tag-a-long collar problems?

I have had the same problem. When I run both GPS and telemetry collars together I have problems. But not with all the collars just a couple. The telemetry collars work fine it's the GPS that go goofy. I've put them on separately and still had crazy stuff happen.

Re: Yeti drops the NRA.

One example of Yeti changing their tune once exposed for being anti gun was in Austin Tx where their store front had a 30x30 sign signing, No concealed or open carried firearms. Yeti was catering to the anti-gun crowd that makes up the majority of Austin. When the Yeti's VP of marketing was called o...

Re: Mt. Lion Population Density Theory?

Alex, I'm pretty positive I know what ranch your referring to but I won't mention the name since you didn't. I'm sure that ranch has unbelievable lion numbers along with all other game. It is a hound hunters paradise. I know of only one hound hunter that had access to that place and he's been out of...

Re: Mt. Lion Population Density Theory?

Alex, Southern California is and will always be great lion country. It's ideal habitat for them. Is there enough prey species on the ranch to support those kind of numbers? I've read somewhere that California lions are regularly feeding on raccoons, possums, hogs, beaver, and rabbits, because of the...

Re: Serious Question!

I hunted in Arkansas enough to know that those dogs were the real deal. I witnessed them in terrible scenting conditions do great dog work. Conditions varied from ridiculous heat even after midnight to extremely high pollen etc, etc. When I went I was all for not going in that nasty country to confi...
