Re: Starting From Scratch

Some may say I am weak at heart but there is no way I would start from scratcg without an old broke check-dog, electrionics (tracking/training collars) and a well bred pup or two. I know funds are tight and I'm in the same boat but IMO you will spend far more without the lead dog to train both you ...

DYI Lion hunt and needed advice

Planning a few trips to NM this winter and am having a hard time deciding on the area I need to spend my time in. I will be heading out on snow fronts because of my inexperienced hounds and will be walking my dogs on any snow tracks I can possibly find. I've researched a couple areas and would like ...

Re: Few Bears

I go to Wisconsin twice a year and New Mexico during their kill season. Have been for a few years. Those are really just my hog dogs. I hog hunt 10 times more than I bear hunt.

Few Bears

I've never posted any pics or videos on this site so I thought I'd put up a few of some caught bears. Thanks for looking and God Bless!!!

Re: The Dog won't make it!

If any eight month old pup contributes much to my races, I would have to evaluate my older dogs a little harder I believe. I fully expect an eight month old to fail when dropped with good experienced dogs. Cull him, I think not. As long as a pup is giving good effort and his failures are not ...

Re: Dewey or anyone: 2 week old pup training

Sit at 2 weeks, hell if mine ain't starting tracks by then they get culled. Dewey is gonna have to do better than that if he wants the best internet breeding program in the world.

Re: Oklaoma Bobcat Rendezvous update

Getting excited about meeting a few of the cat hunters. Does anyone know if there is going to be a good respectable cat hunter that hunts dogs for the public at the Rendezvous? I would like to send a young female out to get on some races for a month or possibly two this summer. If anyone has any ...

Re: Giant bear lollipop for bait (hard candy with a chain in

This is an interesting topic I need more opinions!!! I have a very good friend that owns a business that mass produces protein tubs for deer, cattle, horses, and etc. He can make any flavor I want in 60, 100, or 200 lb tubs. He's offered to make me some proto-types to try out for him. I felt like ...

Re: Oklahoma Bobcat Rendezvous

I'm not a cat hunter but will be in attendance and will be honored to help guide a cast of hounds and houndsmen. I'm VERY familiar with the area and know the particular areas that tend to hold the highest cat populations.

Also for those not familiar with this area it is some AWSOME hunting. The ...

Which is the hardest to catch in you guys opinion? Will the fox usually tree or is it pretty rare?

Re: Teamwork or individual dogs

I think this is where I got lost on the running dog post. I just can't get past the fact that anyone would add a dog to any pack that wasn't a well rounded and balanced hound. They don't have to be a superstar but I just can't feed Ol' Jo Jo just because he's got a cold nose or can push a track fast ...

Re: Runnin dogs???

I just started this topic because I didn't want to mix running blood into my pack of dogs that I want to try on cats and this has gotten out of hand. I'm so very sorry for any comments I've made that might have offended or disrespected anyone. I'll admit I made a few post with strong disagreement ...
