Re: Let’s talk.

Thanks, appreciate the input. I don't do any of the social media but I got my daughter on it. She has already come up with more on facebook than if have found in a week of web searching. I'll do my best to pick the right one but in the end there's a bit of luck involved.
Thanks again.

Re: Let’s talk.

Hi all,
I'm looking for advice on a new pup. I hunt mainly bobcats in northern Colorado and can generally get on one every time out if we get snow. I had three dogs. Lost my female walker a month ago. My Plott is now 13 and just can't do it anymore. I wouldn't call him cold nosed but he was smart ...

Re: Fur Handling Tips

Thanks Dean,
I've been meaning to re-join the CTA. I know they did a lot of work putting mink and martin back on the menu for us. I assume they will have a booth at the auction. Have the cat prices been competitive? I'll check out the web site for the auction information.

Andy,
thanks for the leg ...

Re: Any body know of anyone breeding plotts for shortys

I got my plot from Joe Judson in Carney MI. He's only 11 months old but I've got him started on bobcats. I think he breads primarily bear dogs but I heard that the cross my dog came from was doing well on cats in Utah. I don't know if he plans on more pups but it might be worth a look into.

Re: Fur Handling Tips

Allot of great information.... Here are a couple of questions... Should I be cutting the lower jaw off my cats or letting them shrivel up? How far should I be skinning the front legs down. I used to leave the claws on but I read on the NAFA website that they want them removed since they can cause ...

Re: Fur Handling Tips

I actually prefer to skin my cats the following evening. I find the fat sets up and the job isn't as greasy. Cats skin easy. coyotes I get on right away since they don't skin easy when cold.

Re: Hello All

Thanks for the welcome. I have a question about how far off the track dogs typically run. I have been following tracks until we jump the cat and then turn the dog loose. The dog starts off on the track and often runs off the track quite a ways (30 yards). Some times I have to help him get back on ...

Hello All

Hi. I'm new to the forum and new to hound hunting. I have an 11 month old plot named skunk who is from the shamrock line. I plan to hunt bob cat with him and have got him started. We have chased 4 or 5 cats now but haven't caught any. He has the want to but the terrain and snow hasn't treated us ...
