Re: Thought he was going to die but pulled through
Here are a few thoughts.. One cause can be a brain tumor BUT the chances of this is pretty small. At the vet. hospital I work at 1-2 seizures a month is not something we would medicate. The meds for treating seizures are a controlled substance, in some dogs it makes them "spaced out", so y...

I agree with the above post.. My 2 cents is that the recovery and rehab of the dog is what makes the dog sound again! Good Luck

Re: Raising hounds pack style... some ?s
We have 5 hounds; 3 spayed females, 1 cut male and 1 intact male. They live in a 1/4 acre yard that they have acess to all day and at night they are seperated into 2 kennels. We feed everyone at the same time and only have minor corrections. As a whole there are small fights every once in a while. T...

Re: Old dog
All above posts are right on here is a few things that we do to help our old timers... 1. Science Diet J\d food (it is the most reaserched dog food around, our 11 year old Plott is still going because of it, worth looking into).. it is $$$$$$$ but it works and a joint supplement. 2. Never used the i...

Re: Feeding Information?

Re: cracked hooves
I have a few questions... 1. How often was and is the horse getting trimmed\shoes? 2. Has the horse had a history of foot issues? I was always taught that you look at the foot before the rest of the horse.. more so for using horses than arena horses. Depending on the crack and with trimming\shoeing ...

Re: Kids and horses
My rule of thumb is the kids age and horses age should = 20 or my other favorite saying is.. green horse and green rider = black and blue!! Go to an outfitter or guest ranch at the end of the year and see of they have any older mountain broke stock!! Sometimes a horse is good but just not working ou...
