Re: Bobcat Dog book on YouTube

What Dave you are not going to publish anything more on YouTube. I sure hope that’s not the case I enjoy listening to the book and the other things you have on there. I know it’s not easy and it takes a lot of time but later it’s so worth it. I was lucky enough to get one of your books and Appreciat...

Re: Colorado bobcat hunting ground

There are many roads on BLM and Forest and many are getting closed .TheRoad system on the eastern half of the state is not as good as the western slope .A lot of roads go up a drainage and maybe have a few side roads and then come back out .You may be able to find a road that goes a couple miles . Re: Question for experienced bobcat hunters

Lots of good information on here as always. Having a good locate Dog it seems it takes a little luck . To me a good locate dog cannot be trained to do this other than putting him in the woods and keeping game in front of him .I think it’s in his blood to be able to do this. And for what I’ve seen it...

Re: Treed lion

Most lion hunts if one uses their heads is not dangerous. Only reason for coming into a lion tree on up hill side is to detour a lion from jumping and running. Has nothing to do with keeping a person safe. Yes things can be dangerous but so can walking across the street! Lol. Andy Andy,I think if a...

Re: Treed lion

Hunting stories always sound better if there is a little danger and drama involved. The outdoor shows on TV make alligator hunting seem dangerous. Have lived around the area where this takes place and have never heard of anyone being seriously injured by the gator. Some get hurt in the process but ...

Re: Don't lose emphasis on treeing by scent in your lion hounds

Horshur, At least you realize what is going on with your pack . They are your hounds and you feed them and they make you happy! It can be hard to have all the same caliber of hounds for sure . That’s why we run a pack . I have some awesome track dogs that suck at the tree . Some would say they are c...

Re: Az High desert

If you guys re-read your description of how you hunt your dogs you will figure out why you can't catch any cats. You write it in black and white. As far as guys from up North not being able to catch down there I would love to know who you had come down and try or did you import west coast and hunt ...

Re: Az High desert

So why cant a dog that can trail a 3 day old lion track in the dry SW come to the coast and make these clueless dogs we have out here look like idiots? I think this is a great question Mark! First off Though we are talking about Caughting bobcats in the high desert which is a way harder then most l...

Re: Az High desert

Idcur ,You are so right that high desert arid country is super tough to catch a bobcat in.I really don’t think the northwest houndsmen really understand that the Scent conditions are super tough. I have also seen my share of hounds that could catch in there state and come to even my high desert and ...

Re: Best bobcat dog for Wyoming conditions

Jberry.. Your hounds will probably work just fine. If you have one good cold nose start dog that’s going to help you out a bunch. Wyoming is a big state and has Many types of terrain . It seems the bobcat has the advantage most the time .... but oh man it’s fun !!! Timothy Morgan

Re: Wyoming bobcat hunters

Back in the early 90s there was a lot of good bobcat hunters around Sheridan Wyoming . I was always jealous they always seem to get good snow that would stay . Those same guys would also run lion . I’ve lost communication with all them old boys they had some great hounds! That was way before The Int...

Re: deep snow hunting for cats

The bobcats that I find in the high country early here in Colorado seem to move to the lower elevations once the snow starts getting to deep. I too belive that bobcats don’t enjoy a lot of snow . A couple times running them in deep snow and big blow downs and you will be looking for them in alittle ...
