Alright all very good points for this inexperienced hunter. Well most of the hogs in Oregon arent near me par-se. Id have to drive about 100-150miles to get onto some good hogs, so if given the opportunity I will bring my dogs up on domestic, and see how they perform. I will be in Madras, Oregon, wh...

well my dogs dont bark all day, they bark at the occasional critter and when its gone its done. There are alot more annoying dogs barking than mine. And I do not like it when my hounds bark either, but i think its a serious (Female dog) move to complain to the cops, a serious one! If I have a proble...

Well Id rather use my pistol, but I think I will give the pup her chance, and see how she fairs, she will however be decked in cut gear, just incase. My hounds are very interested by pigs, should i introduce them to a live, domestic pig, or just work them with a scent, most likely Grawes.

Im going to go and talk to the cops tomorrow, and then im going to talk to my neighbors who are having a problem, and find out why they are so bothered, since there are other dogs that bark, even thr...

Noise Complaint

Alright so a copper paid me a visit tonight, telling me that if I didnt find a way to shut my dogs up, id be cited and taken to court. When asked what I should do to deal with the dogs, he suggested and i quote "Bark Collar, and or "Talk to the Vet"" My roomate gave me a heads up...

Catch dog of choice, and training methods

Whats a breed ya'll prefer to have run as your catch dog, and how do ya'll go about trainging the dogs? is it innate or do they have to be taught, and if so whats the best method, and the one most likely to keep me off of PETA's watch list, lol.
Thanks

Yea, well dogs can also pick up nasty bacteria and parasites from uncooked meat, especially road kill even if fresh, im sorry but the miniscule amount of nutrients lost isnt worth a large vet bill or another round of wormer.

Training dogs

Anyone got a trained hound that i could introduce my hounds too on a hunt that could get them pointed the right way on the path to hunting desirable game, a cat hound, or coonhound would be fine either way, heck even a bear or rabbit dog, just not a deer dog, lol.

interesting, so a blue dog with tan in him will produce a all red bloodhound, hmm... well how well would the mix hunt, since i wouldnt be getting the color I had hoped for.
